31-year-old man hospitalised after he was accidentally shot at during the morning recreational hunt
A 66-year-old hunter accidentally shot another hunter whilst out in the fields in Had Dingli, the police confirmed.
The incident happened at around 7.45am in the area close to St Mary Magdalene chapel.
The police said the shooter was aiming at a bird when he accidentally hit another hunter, 31, who was in the area. The pensioner heard the younger hunter screaming and rushed to his side. He proceeded to call an ambulance. Police on scene found the two men waiting together for medical assistance.
Both men are from Dingli. The hunter is not in critical conditio but suffered grievous injuries to his face, the police said. The hunter was hit in the face by shotgun pellets.
