Seven drunk drivers stopped by police
Police stop seven people who were driving under the influence of alchol during series of road checks on Sunday morning
Police stopped seven people who were driving under the influence of alcohol early this morning.
The police said in a statement that its traffic section carried out road checks in St. Julian’s, San Gwann, Iklin, Birkirkara, Swieqi and Pembroke, in which 87 vehicles were stopped and inspected.
Apart from the drunk drivers, police also stopped “several others” for driving without a valid driving license, a road license or insurance cover, operating a trial run on Sunday, driving through red traffic lights and not seating seatbelts.
A person was also booked for contravening a continuous white line and failing to obey police orders.
