Restaurant workers injured in kitchen fire

Three workers were rushed to Mater Dei Hospital for medical treatment following a fire in a Sliema restaurant.

In a statement, the police said the incident happened at around 6.30pm, in Triq ix-Xatt Sliema.

Preliminary investigations show that the three – Gozitan man, 36, Chinese man, 51, and a Russian woman aged 30 – suffered injuries after the restaurant’s kitchen caught fire.

The Chinese man suffered slight injuries whilst the other two suffered grievous injuries.

Police investigations are underway.
