Attempted hold-up in St Julian’s
Pakistani cashier fights off intruder during attempted hold-up
Early this morning at about 6:10am, the police were informed of a robbery which took place in a grocery shop in St George’s Street, St. Julian’s.
The police arrived on the scene where preliminary investigations indicate that a masked man enterred the grocery shop armed with a knife and asked the cashier to hand over the money. The cashier, a 21-year-old Pakistani residing in St Paul’s Bay, refused to comply with the perpetrator’s demands and fought him off, forcing the latter to leave empty handed.
Police investigations are still underway, and case has been opened.
