German man passes away in diving incident

A 78-year-old man lost his life after he found himself in difficulty whilst diving in Xwejni, Gozo.

The man, from Germany, was with seven other divers who helped him to shore. An ambulance was called on site as the diver had lost consciousness. He was given medical care on site and transported to the Gozo General Hospital where he unfortunately passed away.

A magisterial inquiry is underway.
