At around 2:15pm, the police were informed of an argument that had taken place in an apartment complex basement in Triq Dun Frans Camilleri, Ħamrun.

Police arrived on the scene to find a 42-year-old man lying on the floor, bleeding.

Preliminary investigations show that an argument had erupted between two men, resulting in the 42-year-old being stabbed.

It appears that the perpetrator, a 36-year-old Ħamrun resident, fled the scene but later on went to the police station in Qormi, where he was arrested and is currently being held for questioning.

The injured man was taken to Mater Dei hospital for treatment, where it was certified that he was suffering from serious injuries, but was not in danger of dying.
