66-year-old man dies after falling from height

A 66-year-old Luqa resident has died after falling from a height in Triq Valletta,Luqa.

The police reported that they were called onto the scene at around 1.00pm on Saturday, and that preliminary investigations revealed that the man had fallen while he was walking along the road in Luqa.

The man was given first aid by those in the area, but he was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital for further medical attention. He was certified as being in a critical condition, and lost his life some hours later.

Duty magistrate Dr. J Demicoli will be heading the investigation into the case. An autopsy will be carried out as part of the investigation.
