Cooker explosion injures two men

Two men have been rushed to Mater Dei Hospital for injuries sustained when a cooker in a private residence exploded.

The police’s communications office said the incident happened at around 6.30pm in Triq Azzopardi in Marsa.

Three men were standing by the cooker when the blast took place, injuring two of them. One of the men has been identified as a 32-year-old man from Guinea.

The two victims are not in critical condition, although the extent of their injuries is not yet known.

Members of the Civil Protection Department were called on site.

An investigation by the police is underway.
