Two men critically injured after suffering burns while trying to start the motor of a dinghy in Armier
Two men are in danger of ding after suffering burns while they were aboard a dinghy in Armier, Mellieha this afternoon.
The police said the incident occurred at around 1pm when the men, a 28-year-old from Marsa and a 33-year-old from Zebbug, suffered the burns while they were trying to start the motor of the dinghy.
The victims were given first aid by relatives, before they were taken to the nearest health centre.
They were later transferred to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance, where they were certified to be suffering from critical injuries.
An inquiry is being held, while police investigations are ongoing.
Contrary to initial reports, there were no explosions, and the dinghy was undamaged.
