A bus and a coach collided in Qawra this morning, injuring five

Five foreigners were hospitalised after a public bus and a coach collided.

The accident took place this morning at around 8.45am in Qawra Street, Qawra.

A 49-year-old man from Rabat was at the wheel of the coach, which was empty at the time of the accident. The bus was driven by a 53-year-old British man, resident of St Paul’s Bay.

The five persons on the bus who were taken to hospital include a baby from Ukrain of one year and 11 months, a Ukranian man aged 32, a 33-year-old Italian woman, and a 37-year-old Canadian woman  and a 47-year-old British woman, both residents of St Paul’s Bay.

Police confirmed that all those taken to hospital for medical assistance suffered minor injuries.
