Woman grievously injured in traffic collision

A 59-year-old woman was grievously injured in a traffic collision that occurred at around 9.30am in Triq Lapsi, Siġġiewi.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the accident took place when a Perodua Kancil being driven by a 76-year-old Zebbug resident crashed into a wall and careened into a nearby field.

The 59-year-old woman, from Siġġiewi was one of two passengers in the car, alongside another passenger; a 75-year-old woman from Żebbuġ.

An ambulance took the woman for further medical attention at Mater Dei hospital where it was certified she was suffering from grievous injuries.

Police investigations are still underway.
