Elderly woman ran over, seriously injured

A 75-year-old woman from Ghajnsielem was seriously injured yesterday when she was ran over by a car in her hometown.

The incident happened at 4:30pm at Pjazza tad-Dehra, Ghajnsielem. The car, a Volkswagen Golf, was driven by a 27-year-old man from Nadur.

The woman was taken to Gozo General Hospital by ambulance and she was later certified to be suffering from grievous injuries.

Her injuries are not life threatening.

Police investigations are ongoing.
