Two people were injured, one of them grievously, following a collision between two vehicles in Depiro Street, Sliema.

The incident occurred at around 2:45pm on Saturday afternoon when two vehicles a – Peuegot 206 and a Nissan – collided before crashing into opposing walls.

The driver of the Peugeot, a 49-year-old woman from Sliema, was hospitalised after suffering grievous injuries. Her injuries are not life threatening, police said. The Nissan’s driver, a 37-year-old Italian also resident in Sliema, suffered slight injuries while his 22-year-old French passenger was unharmed.

Both drivers were taken to Mater Dei Hospital.
