Three arrested after massive contraband cigarette haul
Police arrest two men and a woman after finding 250,000 contraband cigarettes at the back of a pick-up truck they were driving in Marsaskala.

The contraband cigarettes were found at the back of a pick-up truck in Marsaskala
Two men and a woman were arrested on Wednesday evening after the police found them in possession of around 250,000 contraband cigarettes.
In a statement, the police said that the two men hail from Tarxien and Senglea, while the woman is from Fgura.
The cigarettes were hidden in a box at the back of a pick-up truck that the three people were driving in Marsaskala with a boat in tow.
The police said in a statement that officers from the Drugs Squad followed the truck and carried out a search, suspecting that it was carrying drugs or other illegal material.
The contraband cigarettes were seized and are now in the possession of the Customs Department.
