Elderly pedestrian run over in Zabbar, in critical condition

An 81-year-old man from Bormla is in danger of dying follow a traffic incident along Council of Europe Road, Haz-Zabbar.

The incident happened last night at around 9.50pm when the man, who was on foot, was hit by a Yamaha motorcycle driving by a Marasascala man, aged 28.

An ambulance was called on site and the man was transported to Mater Dei Hospital. Medics reported that the man was in critical condition.

A magisterial inquiry has been launched and investigations by the police are underway.
