Updated | Motorcyclist dies from injuries sustained in Birzebbugia crash

A motorcyclist has died after a head-on collision in Hal Far Road, Birzebbugia, yesterday left him in critical condition.

The accident took place at 6:00am on Tuesday, when a collision took place between an Opel Tigra, driven by a 21-year-old man from Birzebbugia, and a Honda motorcycle, driven by the 47-year-old victim from Żurrieq going in opposite directions.

The motorcyclist was hospitalised in order to receive medical treatment, but hospital staff had declared his state to be critical.

Police sources confirmed the man’s death on Wednesday.

Duty magistrate Natash Galea Sciberras appointed a magisterial inquiry, aided by several experts.
