A 59-year-old man was injured this morning when a ceiling collapsed into a garage in Balzan.

At around 9:15am, a worker inspecting damages sustained to the ceiling of a house in St Anthony Street on Sunday, when the ceiling collapsed and he fell one storey, landing in a street-level garage.

A medical team conveyed the man to Mater Dei hospital, where his injuries were declared to be grievous.

Police investigations are still ongoing.
