Traffic accident in St Julian's lands four people in hospital, including a 35-year-old woman and a boy, 7, who suffered grievous injuries

Four people, including a seven-year-old boy, were hospitalised after being injured in a head-on crash in St Julian’s this afternoon.

The police said the incident occurred at 4:30pm when a BMV driven by a 37-year-old man from San Gwann collided with a Ford van driven by a 26-year-old man from Qormi.

A 35-year-old woman and the boy, who are both from San Gwann, were passengers in the BMW. Their injuries have been described as grievous by the police.

The victims were given first aid on site by a team of paramedic and were then taken to Mater Dei Hospital for further treatment.

The men suffered slight injuries.

The BMW was being driven towards Sliema, whereas the Ford van was being driven in the opposite direction towards Paceville.

Police investigations are ongoing.
