Motorist grievously injured in two-car collision in Paola

A 58-year-old man was grievously injured yesterday evening when he collided with another car in Triq il-Palma, Paola.

The Birzebbugia resident was driving a Land Rover Freelander when a collision took place with a Toyota Auris, driven by a man, 38, resident of Zurrieq. As a result of the collision, the victim crashed into an electricity pole.

The man was hospitalised and later declared to be suffering from grievous injuries.

The Civil Protection Department dispatched on the scene to remove any danger that could have been caused by the crash.

Police investigations are still underway.
