Diver dies after finding himself in difficulty in Dwejra
A 27-year-old diver from Paola died today after finding himself in difficulty while swimming at Dwejra
A 27-year-old diver, Ludovick Casha, from Paola died today after finding himself in difficulty while swimming at Dwejra, in the limits of San Lawrenz, Gozo.
According to a police statement, the man found himself in difficulty at about 4:50pm, and was given first aid by two other divers who had been accompanying him, and who was brought him ashore on an inflatable boat, in a state unconsciousness.
The man was conveyed to Gozo General Hosptial by ambulance where he was pronounced dead.
The Armed Forces of Malta and the Civil Protection Department were involved in the operation, with the CPD administering CPR until the man was stabilised.
Magistrate Paul Coppini is leading an inquiry.
