Thief gets away with cash in Birkirkara hold-up

An undisclosed amount of cash was reported stolen during a hold-up on Thursday afternoon in a shop in Fleur-de-Lys Road in Birkirkara.

The police said they were informed about the hold-up at 4.15pm and that their initial investigations had concluded that a man had entered the shop and told woman running the outlet to hand him the money.

The police were told that the man, who was unmasked and was yielding a sharp and pointed instrument, made his getaway with some cash.

The 20-year-old employee was unharmed in the incident.
