Teenager among men arrested for drug possession

A17-year-old teenager was among a number of people arrested by the police on Saturday evening in Marsa, the police said in a statement.

Valletta police and units of the Rapid Intervention Unit went to the scene after receiving reports of a brawl in progress in Xatt il-Mollijiet, but found no one arguing when they arrived.

Following further investigations in a building in the area, police noted a number of people who were acting suspiciously and who seemed troubled by the police presence.

The police searched the people individually and discovered a number of packets, thought to contain drugs. A number of people, including the teenager and a 57-year-old man from Senegal, were arrested.
