Serbian charged with falsifying passport, spared prison sentence
26-year-old man handed suspended prison sentence after admitting to falsifying his passport
A Serbian man has been handed a suspended sentence after admitting to falsifying his passport.
Dusan Gavrilovic, 26, of Serbia, pleaded guilty to the charges brought against him. In its submissions for punishment, the Prosecution said an effective jail term should be imposed.
In handing down punishment, the Court, presided by Magistrate Neville Camilleri, took into account the accused’s early guilty plea and clean criminal record, and sentenced him to 18 months in prison, suspended for three years.
Police Inspector Mario Haber prosecuted.
