Armed robber steals cash in hold up, man arrested

A 34-year-old man was arrested by police following an armed robbery in Zejtun last night.

The hold occurred at around 8:45pm when a man armed with a sharp object walked into a store in Triq l-Isqof Emm. Galea and ordered the shop assistant to hand over money. The robber fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

After arriving on scene, district police and members of the Rapid Intervention Unit arrested a 34-year-old man in connecton with the robbery.

No one was injured in the robbery.

Magistrate Donatella Frendo Dimech is leading an inquiry into the case.

Police investigations are ongoing.
