Woman, 81, seriously injured in Sliema accident

An 81-year-old woman from Sliema was grievously injured when she was hit by a car while crossing the road.

The incident occurred in Mrabat Street, Sliema when the woman was hit by a Toyota Starlet driven by a 37-year-old man from Msida.

The woman was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance and was later certified to be suffering from grievous injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
