Man seriously injured in fight, aggressor arrested

A 45-year-old man was seriously injured in a fight in St Paul’s Bay this morning, police said.

The victim, a Serbian man who lives in San Gwann, was injured when a 29-year-old Libyan man who lives in St Paul’s Bay hit him with a hard object.

The incident occurred at an establishment in Triq il-Mazzola, St Paul’s Bay, at about 5:45am.

The aggressor escaped but was found and arrested later, police said.

The Serbian man was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance where he was later certified to be suffering from grievous injuries.
