Court messengers caught on CCTV hiding criminal case file

Two court messengers are being investigated by Duty Magistrate Donatella Frendo Dimech after they were caught on camera hiding the documents relating to an on-going criminal investigation.

In a statement late on Thursday, the ministry for justice said that the inquiry was launched after the actions of the two messengers were caught on the law court’s CCTV system.

The duty magistrate and the police were notified immediately, and the two messengers will be suspended from their duties, as established by law, the ministry said.
