17 arrested overnight for drugs possession

Seventeen people aged between 18 and 35 were arrested last night, after they were found in possession of illegal substances including ecstasy, cocaine, cannabis resin and grass.

The arrests were made at a rural area in Mtarfa following searches carried out by Drugs Squad police. The amount of drugs seized by the police indicates that the drugs were intended for personal use.

The suspects are being held by the police for further investigations.
