Motorcyclist, 28, killed in Mriehel traffic accident

A 28-year-old motorcyclist, of Rabat, died this morning following a crash with a truck on the Mriehel bypass.

According to police, the accident happened at 9:00am, involving a Ducati 750 and a DAF truck.

A medical team arrived on the scene but the man, named by state media as Christopher Paul Abela, was pronounced dead on site. The truck driver was hospitalised as he was suffering from shock.

The road has been closed to traffic.

An inquiry is being held.
