Police arrest cannabis suspect

Police arrested a 45-year-old man from Santa Venera in connection with possession of 600g of suspected cannabis.

According to police, the cannabis had been packed in plastic bags in preparation for trafficking.

The Drug Squad, working with the Rapid Intervention Unit, has been investigating the man with regard to his possible involvement in the find of 18 kilos of cannabis two years ago.

Police said the man is expected to be arraigned tomorrow, charged with trafficking and aggravated possession of cannabis as well as his role in importation.
