Man hit by car, then run over in Marsa

A 50-year-old man was run over by a car as he was crossing the road at Triq Aldo Moro on Friday night.

Police said that the man, an Italian national who lives in San Gwann, was hit by an Open Astra driven by a 42-year-old man from Ghaxaq at around 8:50pm.

Subsequently, a Nissan Qashqai driven by a 38-year-old man from Zejtun crashed into the Astra, pushing it onto the Italian man.

CPD and police officers had to lift the vehicle to release the man, who was later rushed off to Mater Dei for treatment.
