Woman grievously injured by forklifter in Hamrun

A 55-year-old Santa Venera woman was grievously injured this morning after she was hit by a forklifter on Emmanuel Attard Street, Hamrun.

The incident took place at about 10:15am.

An ambulance was called on site and conveyed the woman to Mater Dei hospital for treatment.

The fork lifter was being operated by a 52-year-old man, resident of Mellieha, who suffered no injuries.

Magistrate Josette Demicoli ordered an inquiry into the case whilst Hamrun Police are investigating.
