Cyclist grievously injured in collision with truck

A 46-year-old English woman was grievously injured this morning when she was hit by a truck while riding her bicycle in Mellieha.

The accident happened at 8am in Etna street.

The van, a Ford Transit, was being driven by a 40-year-old man from Mqabba.

The woman was conveyed to Mater Dei hospital by ambulance.

Police investigations are ongoing.
