Young man seriously injured in industrial estate accident

A 19-year-old Gambian national was grievously hurt today after an accident at the industrial zone in Attard.

The incident, which took place at around 2.30pm, happened when marble tiles fell on the young man.

Civil Protection Department officials were called to the scene to assist the victim, with an ambulance later taking him to Mater Dei Hospital for care.

It was subsequently determined that his injuries were serious in nature.

Police investigations are ongoing.
