Stolen car driver released on bail
The man will have to report to a probation officer while on bail
A man accused of driving a stolen car and tampering with its paperwork has been released on supervised bail.
Roderick Cilia, 40 from Ghaxaq, had been arraigned earlier this week on charges of handling stolen goods, altering official licencing documents and making use of them, driving without insurance cover and breaching several court decrees including suspended sentences and bail.
In a decree granting bail, magistrate Josette Demicoli released the man against a deposit of €750 and a personal guarantee of €4000. He will have to report to a probation officer whilst on bail.
Lawyers Franco Debono and Damian Cassar were defence counsel. Inspectors Robert Vella and Wayne Camilleri are prosecuting.
