Woman accused of theft from PN club
A woman has been released on bail after being charged with stealing a pouch containing cash from the Zabbar PN club
A woman from Zabbar has been released on bail after she was charged with stealing a pouch containing cash from the Zabbar PN club.
36-year-old, Elaine Spiteri was arraigned before magistrate Yana Micallef Stafrace by Inspector Eman Hayman this morning. Spiteri was charged with theft aggravated by value.
Lawyer Michael Sciriha entered a not guilty plea on behalf of the unemployed accused. He requested bail, which was not opposed by the prosecution as long as the woman kept her distance from the victims.
The court granted the woman temporary release from arrest, ordering her to stay away from the family of the victim, sign a bail book twice a week and deposit her travel documents in court. No deposit was imposed, with the court, instead, requiring a €10,000 personal guarantee. The magistrate warned the woman of the consequences of disobeying any of the bail conditions she had just imposed.
