Man seriously injured after falling from balcony

A 22-year-old Swedish national has been seriously injured after he fell from a height of around three storeys in Sliema early Friday morning.

The incident occurred at 5:30am in Triq De Piro.

The police said that it appeared the man, who resides in Sliema, had fallen from the balcony of an apartment. However, they still do not know how the incident occurred.

An ambulance took the victim to Mater Dei Hospital for further treatment, where it was later certified that the man was suffering severe injuries.

A police investigation is currently ongoing.
