Man seriously injured in traffic accident in Mellieha

A 37-year-old man has been seriously injured during a traffic accident in Mellieha on Wednesday evening.

The incident occurred at 7:30pm in Triq Louis Wettinger.

The police said an investigation revealed, that there had been a collision between a BMW 640D driven by a 37-year-old man from Iklin and a BMW 120D driven by a 26-year-old woman from Swieqi.

The victim was taken to Mater Dei Hospital for further treatment, where it was later certified he was suffering from serious injuries.

A police investigation is currently ongoing.
