Seven arrested in Qormi drug bust

Seven persons were arrested in a drug bust led by the police drugs squad and Qormi district police, together with the Special Intervention Unit and traffic police.

The persons were arrested in a garage on Triq il-Mejjilla in Qormi.

Police said they hailed from Qormi, Valletta, Zejtun, Msida and St Paul’s Bay, ages ranging from 38 to 47 years.

Police said they found heroin and cocaine inside the garage, ready to be trafficked, together with other drug paraphernalia.

Duty magistrate Monica Vella is leading the investigation, and the persons are expected to be arraigned in the coming days.
