‘Energy proposals, gimmick of the millennium’- Simon Busuttil
PN deputy leader Simon Busuttil dismisses Labour’s energy proposals during campaign activity in B'Kara.

PN deputy leader Simon Busuttil today poured cold water over Labour's energy proposals during a visit to the Birkirkara market, flanked by PN candidates from the 8th district.
Busuttil received a mixed reception, with some people lining up to meet him whilst others scurried for cover. Unsurprisingly, the main topic on everyone's lips was the PL's energy proposals.
"Joseph Muscat's proposal is the gimmick of the millennium. In the coming days, we shall be demonstrating how these proposals are nothing but a big gimmick. The PL is promising a 25% reduction in utility bills, before the groundwork for their proposal hasn't even been laid," said Busuttil.
Probed further on the role of energy consultants KEMA, Busuttil handed over to Tonio Fenech, who said, "KEMA has only evaluated the costings of the infrastructure. From there on, the choice of infrastructure and PL's presentation of the bill structure has had nothing to do with KEMA. Do not be fooled by the fact that a KEMA representative was present for the press conference with Joseph Muscat."
"It is the Labour Party that decided to opt for the particular technology in question, KEMA has stated that the government's preferred option for a subterranean pipeline is better suited to the country's infrastructure, and actually works out cheaper than Labour's choice. " I expect the Labour Party to fully explain its choice,"said finance minister said.
