Police force sees 80 transfers – PL

Labour says ‘the Father Christmas of transfers has arrived late at the Police Corps.

According to the Labour Party, 80 transfers have been carried out among members of the Police Force, with the party dubbing the development "the delayed arrival of the Father Christmas of transfers".

In a statement, the PL's spokesperson for home affairs Michael Falzon said that the transfers "reconfirm how much the Police Corps is controlled by GonziPN's electoral exigencies."

Falzon said this development has "demoralised" a number of police officers who received the transfers without given a reason why.

"Even more worrying is the fact that certain transfers don't make sense, especially where officers were assigned to certain sections without having the abilities or the experience for their new job."
