PL file complaint with Broadcasting Authority over Bondiplus promo advertising presence of Labour MP Marlene Pullicino.

The Public Broadcasting Services have told MaltaToday that a Bondiplus promo was updated accordingly, after Labour filed a complaint with the Broadcasting Authority after the promo featured MP Marlene Farrugia.
Labour registered a complaint with the BA over a promo being broadcast in regards to tomorrow's edition of Bondiplus, which promo said that Marlene Pullicino would be representing Labour when her presence had not yet been confirmed to the producers.
"The promo never said that Farrugia was attending, but that she was invited," a PBS spokesperson said. "In fact once Labour confirmed it wanted candidate Konrad Mizzi to attend, we updated the promo immediately."
In its complaint, Labour urged the BA to "take immediate action to stop this abuse", claiming the promo was in breach of the BA's own circular to PBS which states that television programme promos cannot be aired before the guests' participation is confirmed.
The promo being aired by PBS said Pullicino will be facing finance minister Tonio Fenech to discuss Labour's energy proposals.
Since Labour announced its energy proposals last week, the plans have been fronted by new PL candidate Konrad Mizzi.
In October 2012, a decision by the authority had enraged the Public Broadcasting Services which ruled that political parties have the last word on who should appear on televised political discussion programmes.
The controversial ruling stemmed from Public Broadcasting Services's refusal to accept the Labour Party's decision to send Karmenu Vella instead of Charles Mangion on Bondiplus.
