4:50pm- Time to do a runner and beat the traffic and rain, thanks for joining.
4:49pm- Flags and baloons waving madly
4:48pm- Out pop the deputies Toni Abela and Louis Grech
4:47pm- Ticker tape and Michelle at the ready
4:46pm- Rousing finishing by Muscat there, really reached a crescendo.
4:45pm- "The aspiration for a new middle class is for all."
4:33pm- "A PL government would be of service to the whole population. We are going to continue with our positive message, whilst 'the others' are going to get negative."
4:31pm- Figures flying left, right and centre. Didn't catch them all but sounds like the proposal is the best thing since sliced bread.
4:30pm- Muscat assures that the proposal has been costed and will pay for itself within a few years.
4:29pm- "We shall be providing free child care services, a big project with huge economic and social implications." (applause)
4:27pm- "We recognise that more women need to join the workforce. We do not want to raise the pension age again. We want to let people who want to work after retirement do so because they want to, not because they have to."
4:25pm- Professor Stern of Times of Malta fame is now the flavour of the day. "This proves that a 10 year agreement is doable."
4:24pm- "Now we know why out plan was criticised. Now we know why they didn't want to turn to a gas plant."
4:23pm- "What we have learnt today is a perfect example of why the statute of limitation needs to be removed."
4:22pm- Yet another mention for MaltaToday. I'm blushing.
4:21pm- "This is our money that has been taken. This is why we need change. Malta must not remain the domain of the few. Malta should be for all."
4:19pm- Muscat makes reference to MaltaToday's scoop this morning about the Enemalta scandal.
4:18pm- The government pipeline proposal will cost 700 million according to Muscat.
4:17pm- "Years of bad leadership is leading to families suffering unneccesarily. This government had at least two opportunities to switch to natural gas. Italy had offered to build a free gas pipeline, but for some reason this offer was turned down."
4:15pm- "Join us. Your place is with us. We have a roadmap that is going to lead to economic growth. We did not need foreigners to tell us that there is something wrong with our economy." The PN is burying its head in the sand to these problems according to Muscat.
4:14pm- "People will look back on this moment and say,Yes, I was a part of that movement."
4:12pm- "We need the people who fought for Malta's independence. We need young peoples' energy coupled with this. This is not just an election. This is a change in the way of doing things."
4:10pm- "We have had conflicts in the past. We deserve better than this. We need to turn over a new leaf. Our population is too small to be split." Looks like we are in for another grandiose speech.
4:08pm- "We have a history to be proud of. Even when Malta formed part of a colony it did not lose its identity."
4:07pm- "It is time for a change in direction. This cannot be done alone. This requires a movement. A grouping of people joined by common values."
4:06pm- Its show time, ready yourselves..Joseph Muscat is in the building.
4:05pm- Time for a feature reassuring us that 'Malta taghna lkoll.'
4:03pm- Someone has unfurled a massive banner, appeals for it to be taken down as peoples' views are being blocked.
4:00pm- "Lets us put ourselves on the right side of history. We will only be satisfied once we are the best in Europe. Join us on this journey and let turn this dream into reality. Be a part of this movement." Off goes Abela, on to the next speaker.
4:00pm- "We have come out with serious proposals for cheaper and cleaner energy. Proposals to get more women to work and generate more employment in Gozo." The road is long and we have to keep out feet on the ground. This is a long campaign. I am proud to be Maltese, as we should all be."
3:58pm- Presenter bias is rife according to Abela.
3:57pm- On to the next theme, Public Broadcasting.
3:54pm- What of the 800 million Enemalta debt? All the PN does is call the PL's proposals gimmicks.
3:52pm- PN rushed headlong into a brick wall, and then blamed the PL for its troubles- Abela's take on the Budget 2013 saga
3:50pm- Abela is really warming to the theme now- The truth is that damage has been done to the country. There is a chasm between what the PN is claiming the financial situation of our country is, and the reality of things.
3:48pm- In the very same week that PN assured us of our financial well being, S&P reduced our credit rating.
3:46pm- "We are one population, ready to work together with everyone and respect our political opponents. We believe in the talent of our workers."
3:45pm- The PN is offering nothing new according to Abela. "The PL has recognised and paid for past mistakes. We are committed never to make the same mistakes."
3:43pm- "The population has lost all faith in the judiciary"
3:41pm- First up,President Abela's son.
3:40pm- The speakers seem to be working fine..
3:38pm- Time for some Rihanna, never a bad thing.
3:36pm- Joseph Muscat will be joining us soon *cue blaring fog horns*
3:35pm- Complimentary chocolate chip cookies fuelling some very hungry journalists.
3:33pm- The crowd are currently being stoked up to a variety of catchy tunes in anticipation of Muscat's arrival.
3:32pm- Cars snaking up all the way from Mtarfa hill with thousands in attendance.
3:31pm- Not a minute wasted, the next PL mass meeting has been announced for Haz Zabbar next Sunday.
3:30pm- Welcome to this (progressive) live blog from the appropriately named Vjal il Haddiem, Rabat.
