AD turns to political parties: ‘stop your electoral gimmicks’
PN and PL chastised by AD over their ‘copycat game’, insists electoral campaign ‘resembling a supermarket’.
Alternattiva Demokratika chairperson Michael Briguglio has called on the Nationalist and Labour parties to stop with their electoral gimmicks and their "copycat game".
Referring to the parties' 'war of the tablets', AD said it was unacceptable that the PN and PL were copying each other "each promising to top up what the other is offering to the electorate".
AD said such "cheap electioneering was of disservice to the seriousness of the same issues, such as energy and education, as the election campaign is
increasingly resembling a supermarket".
AD said that unlike the other two parties who were promising everything to everyone it was putting forward responsible, progressive and sustainable proposals.
"Our proposals also include proposals on how government can sustain its public expenditure. AD's election in parliament will ensure that political debate is based on serious proposals, and not on shallow marketing," Briguglio said.
