Labour leader to contest the second and fourth district
Joseph Muscat will be contesting on the two Labour strongholds of the second and fourth districts.
Party officials have confirmed with MaltaToday that Labour leader Joseph Muscat will be contesting the second and fourth districts, both being Labour strongholds.
It has also been confirmed that deputy leader Louis Grech will be contesting the first and eleventh district.
The fourth district is also very popular with Labour MP Silvio Parnis who in the last general election saw his vote rise from 4,157 to 4,890. Since then, the fourth district has lost Labour MP Karl Chircop who passed away in the summer of 2008. That year, he had been elected with 4,379 votes.
The fourth district includes Marsa, Paola, Tarxien, Sta Lucija, Gudja and Hal Ghaxaq.
