Choose the genuine PN - Simon Busuttil

Busuttil professed to being at a loss as to how the cost of implementing the PL's electoral programme was less than the PN's.

PN deputy leader Simon Busuttil was present for a discussion held in Luqa this evening with the Party's candidates for the 6th district.

Busuttil stressed that financial largesse is no longer a possibility in today's world. He also mentioned that the European Commission has confirmed that Malta's finances are in a manageable state.

"The biggest lie of the last electoral campaign was the PL's claim that our Party would remove free healthcare. The PL is trying to repeat the same lie. Politics has to be built on truth and not on lies," Busuttil said.

"The PL's electoral programme has more than 800 proposals, yet somehow this works out at a lesser cost than our own electoral programme which has a 100 proposals. The PL is going to endanger our finances and cause problems for taxpayers," Busuttil declared.

Busuttil argued that if there is any risk that Malta's free healthcare system will be abolished it is under the PL and not the PN. He said that sound financial management and free healthcare are intrinsically linked.

Turning to the current round of budgetary negotiations taking place in Brussels, Busuttil thanked Prime Minister Gonzi for his efforts.

"The PL said that all that we would get from the EU was a million and a half pounds. Renovating Triq il-Kunsill tal-Ewropa in Luqa cost more than that, and the project was co-financed by the EU," Busuttil said.

Busuttil once again brought up the argument that the PL is trying to imitate the PN, questioning where "the real Labour" is hiding.

"How do labourites feel about the fact that their own party is ashamed of what it is. Between the real PN and the fake PN, we should choose the original version. We should choose the original version because it is the original PN that is authentic. It is only the genuine item that comes with a guarantee."

Choose the genuine PN says Simon Busutil; when the genuine PN like Tonio Borg; John Dalli; Franco Debono; Jesmond Mugliette; Jean Pierre Farrugia etc were backlashed. Joe Saliba was super wizard and new when to hide. The only good medicine for PN is losing this election for the benefit of the party and the country.

Choose the genuine PN - Simon Busuttil ..... for once I agree but keep in mind Simon that gonzipn is not PN anymore as a good number of ex-nationalist supporters would attest to. The only geniune party still around is PL which has retained its values but opened itself for all those of good will to join no matter what they voted or were active in the past. Yes, PL has no skeletons in its cupboard and no one still in the closet. PL is an open minded movement as geniun as virgin wool.

Simon, "genuine nationalists " have left GonziPN in droves ! What is left is IL-KLIKKA and thousands of blinkered supporters.

When Simon said that the PL had said Malta will be getting only LM1.5 million a year from EU, he was lying. Because der. Sant had said that when one deducts the money Malta would be paying to the EU, there remains a BALANCE of LM1.5 million ! In reality, between 2007 till 2011 Malta has paid €306.7 million to EU. And from 2007 till October 2012, Has received €278 million ! These do n ot include €1.5 BILLION in funds and guarantees etc.. to bailout Greece and save the euro ! And do not include €72.5 million a year which , according to 'OPWìEN EUROPE', it is costing Malta to introduce and implement EU regulations ! So go tell your fairy tales to the marines, Simon !

Simon is proving to be a big disappointment to many. Every day he is looking and sounding more fake. It seems that a law degree and a spell as MEP have done little to change his parochial mindset.

The PN has long stopped being a genuine product and it will take a long time to restore confidence in the brand. Many former nationalist supporters see it as a tainted brand no longer to be trusted for its former superior qualities and reliability. As has happened in many spheres of life a good part of its management became self serving and greedy and concerned with preserving their privileges within their Pieta glass palace . There are too many fat cats hovering within and around the party structures and it has forgotten that its prime mission is to selflessly serve the ordinary people. It will take more than a few nice words from Simon to turn the PN round and to convince the people to start once again buying the product.

Considering how recently so many genuine nationalist left the PN, the latest being Mario Tabone Vassallo, I am no longer sure now who to vote for, as it seems Simon Busuttil himself is recommending we should all vote Labour on the 9th of March.

Dear Simon, You have been claiming that the PL copied your mainfesto and now you are admitting that it has 7 times as many proposals. Proposal does equal expenditure and you know that. However, one thing that you should do is stop mentioning the PL and shame in the same sentence. You are simply being arrogant and insulting like your leader. You still haven't apologised to the Maltese people for what you claimed about faces this week and believe me, the last thing that the PL is is ashamed. Let's leave shame for those who deserve to be ashamed.
