Gonzi dodges questions with military precision
Prime Minister Gonzi failed to answer whether the Abela recording is a more serious matter than the oil procurement scandal when asked at an AFM inauguration event this morning.
Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi this morning inaugurated a new building at the AFM's maritime headquarters at Haywarf, Floriana.
Together with the news building, the AFM launched three new rigid hull boats. These boats are equipped with thermal imaging equipment in order to help their operators work better in low light conditions.
Since Malta has joined the EU, Prime Minister Gonzi said that the AFM has benefitted from a programme of investment to the tune of 60 million. A quarter of this has gone to the maritime division.
At the end of the inauguration, Gonzi was asked by a member of the partisan press why Austin Gatt has not yet faced the media over the oil procurement scandal.
Dodging the question with military precision, Gonzi said that the Labour Party has bigger problems to worry about in the form of the Toni Abela recording. The Prime Minister did not given an answer when asked if the Abela recording is more serious than the oil procurement scandal.
