Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi was given a resounding welcome by throngs of students which were waiting to greet him when he visited the Higher Secondary 6th Form in Naxxar.

As is becoming the wont of visiting political leaders, Gonzi signed countless PN electoral programmes and flags as well as posed for pictures along with smiling teens as he toured the school premises.

Gonzi was accompanied by minister Dolores Cristina and parliamentary secretary Clyde Puli.

The throng of jostling students that kept pace with Gonzi as he toured various staff rooms and school labs kept up a steady cheerful mass-meeting atmosphere, singing Nationalist anthems like "Nazzjonalisti, Nazzjonalisti", and "Thank you, Thank you very much."

Gonzi also gave an impromptu mini-interview to a student who is aspiring to become a journalist. Among the questions the budding reporter as the Prime Minister were 'what motivated you to enter politics', 'what is your support system', and 'why are you proud to be Maltese'.

It is carnival time, after all! I believe James Debono got it right when commented that all this hullabalou is showing up the immaturity of our young people; and this after 25 years of PN in power, and practically 10 years membership of the EU. Is there hope for Malta's future citizens?

Joseph leads and Wenzu follows. This is fast becoming a joke - Lawrence Gonzi sets up copycat visits every time Joseph Muscat visits an educational institution. I wonder when Simon Busttil who vociferously claimed that all copycats should resign will call a press conference to ask for his dear leader to resign. LOL

Did Clyde Puli see anyone with earphones and asked him what he was listening to and got the answer "Hawn ha isma Malta Taghna Llkoll"? No wonder gonzi complained about lack of talent with the kind of material like Puli he was sure in a desperate state.

Yea. And while Gonzi was talking to the students, i spoke to one of the students, who was wearing earphones and oblivious of Gonzi, and i asked him what was he listening to. And he replied 'I'm listening to Come on boys, come on girls, ……" Two can play at the same game, Clyde.

Watching Muscat and now Gonzi, disrupting school hours and creating rivalry and conflicts amongst students, rather than objectively discussing what each party can effectively deliver to improve the quality of life of future generations, gives me another reason to vote Aletrnattiva - the Greens.
