Intershore directors considering legal action against Fenech

One of the directors of Intershore Fiduciary Services Ltd says company is seeking legal advice to see what action can be taken against the Nationalist Party and Finance Minister Tonio Fenech.

Intershore Fiduciary Services Ltd is seeking legal advice as to what action can be taken against the Nationalist Party and Finance Minister Tonio Fenech following yesterday's press conference in which the Finance Minister alleged that Labour candidate Joe Cordina was "behind the oil scandal", as the director-shareholder of Intershore Fiduciary Services - the nominee company that owned George Farrugia's Aikon Ltd, before the trader assumed full ownership in January 2011.

In comments to MaltaToday, Intershore director and former PN candidate Martin Fenech said the company was "seeking legal advice" in order to sue for libel.

Together with the other two Intershore directors Joe Cordina and Charles Scerri, Martin Fenech yesterday denied their company was ever involved in the oil corruption scandal.

"We are categorically and solemnly declaring that no monies in connection to the buying or selling of oil ever entered the bank account of our company," Fenech, Scerri and Cordina said.

The three directors expressed their disappointment at those "trying to tarnish the credibility, the professionalism and the integrity of individuals who always abided by the law and gave an honest service to their clients".

fenea, what is alleged does not make it, of itself, a fact. Mallia was speaking on behalf of his clients, i.e. the Farrugia Brothers' John's Garage Group. It does not necessarily mean he held the same opinion. Probably, in the Farrugia brothers situation, I would have said the same thing to strengthen my hand in court. But this statement was turned down by the same proposers as they agreed to an out of court settlement involving just George Farrugia. Intershore seems to not have shelled out one penny of this €1.2 Million settlement. Tonju's story and scenario are completely different and disgustingly low brow.

From a court report it transpired that Labour candidate Manuel Mallia himself had declared and accused Cordina's Intershore of being an accomplice in Aikon's fraudulent activity..........TONIO FENECH DOES NOT INVENT STORIES BUT SHOWS PROVEN FACTS.

Apart from Intershore suing the Minister, I think that Joe Cordina should remain on the ballot simply so that if he is elected (and eventually found to be innocent of Fenech's allegations), he can then sue him as well for lost earnings!
