Unemployed, redundant and under-25s to get income tax, NI exemptions - Puli
Clyde Puli says PN's electoral programme gives long-term vision for quality of people's lives.
The Nationalist Party's electoral programme was based on sound economic proposals that guaranteed families a good quality of life, Nationalist parliamentary secretary Clyde Puli said today.
In a presentation of the PN's electoral programmes for the creation of work and improvement of families' lives, Puli said the party's proposals were based on a long-term vision that would help parents and their children contribute better to society.
Puli said people aged under 25 or registering for work for work for five years, or people made redundant at 45 or over, would be given a two-year income tax exemption and paid social security if they become self-employed, while those who set up a company would be exempted from paying registration and other administrative fees.
Puli made a strong case for the PN's proposal to equip all children and their teachers with tablets.
"Tablets are essential to encourage the knowledge economy of this future. We are witnessing a change in the way we go about our jobs, and everybody, whether they are managers or waiters, have to know how to handle digital applications," Puli said.
Puli also said a re-elected Nationalist government would offer childcare services free to all women, irrespective of their age, to give support to mothers who want to participate in the labour market; as well as sick leave for parents whose children are sick.
